COL David Clarke Romine currently serves as Chief Surgeon, Army National Guard, and is the primary medical advisor to the Director, ARNG, and the 54 States, Territories and the District of Columbia regarding medical policies and programs for over 350,000 Guardsmen and their Families. Dr. Romine also serves as medical representative for the Director to Headquarters, Department of the Army, Office the Surgeon General, the Army Reserve and the Active Component Army, the other Military Services, and Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense (Health Affairs).
