Everyone was seeing RED at the Army National Guard Readiness Center in Arlington, VA this Valentine's Day; and that is a very good thing. The Readiness Center is now proudly displaying one of The American Heart Association's (AHA's) Red Dress Statues.

Breaking News: It's Official--Boots Start Walkin'!
Please join the Decade of Health team and the American Heart Association at the 2007 Start! Greater Washington Heart Walk on Saturday, November 3, 2007 on The National Mall - Washington, DC - at 14th Street, NW between Madison and Jefferson. Entertainment begins at 0830, the Walk at 1000, and an awards celebration at 1100. Look for the Decade of Health table on Wednesday, 17 OCT outside of the NG Readiness Center cafeteria, and Thursday, 25 OCT at the NG Readiness Center Health and Crafts Fair to sign up, get a free pedometer, and more information about the ARNG Decade of Health and American Heart Association Alliance.

Breaking News: Army National Guard Boots to Start Walkin'!
The Army National Guard's Decade of Health Program Joins Forces with the American Heart Association's Start! Walking Worksite Program
Arlington, VA - October 10, 2007 - The Army National Guard (ARNG) announced the expansion of its strategic alliance with the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association (AHA/ASA) today here at the National Guard Bureau Readiness Center at a media event highlighting its efforts to become a Start! Fit Friendly worksite by the end of 2007.
Start! is the AHA's groundbreaking national movement that calls on all Americans and their employers to create a culture of physical activity and health to live longer, heart-healthy lives through walking.
Promoting physical activity through workplace walking programs can help employees reduce their risk for heart disease and stroke and lead longer, stronger, healthier lives.
The ARNG is launching this effort to magnify its successful 2007 blood pressure awareness campaign, Get Cuffed!, as well as to support its upcoming 2008 weight management campaign, Lighten Up! both in partnership with the AHA.

U.S. Army National Guard enlists support of American Heart Association
Arlington, VA - January 25, 2007 - The Army National Guard (ARNG) announced a strategic alliance with the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association (AHA/ASA) today at the National Guard Bureau Readiness Center located at
111 South George Mason Drive in Arlington, Virginia. The launch of the 2007 "Get Cuffed!" ® blood pressure campaign marks year two of the ARNG's Decade of Health program.
One out of every three American adults suffers from high blood pressure affecting an estimated 72 million. High blood pressure is a major risk factor for heart disease and stroke. The estimated direct and indirect cost of high blood pressure in the United States for 2007 is $66.4 billion.
